What we collect
ICE Breakers collects the minimum data necessary to function:
- Sighting reports: latitude, longitude, and timestamp when you report an ICE sighting
- Anonymous identifier: a randomly generated Firebase anonymous ID, used only for rate limiting
- Device location: only when you grant permission, used to center the map on your area
What we don’t collect
- No name, email, phone number, or personal information
- No account registration required
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No advertising identifiers
How we use your data
- Sighting reports are stored to display on the map for other users
- Anonymous IDs are used solely to prevent spam (rate limiting)
- Location data is used only to center the map and is not stored on our servers
Data retention
Sighting reports are stored permanently to enable historical analysis and pattern detection.
Third-party services
- OpenStreetMap: used to display the map interface. Subject to the OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy
